Locate is the 2nd step of the Research Process
At this stage of the process students should:
• Ask what do I already know?
• Ask what do I still need to find out?
• Ask how do I find the information?
• review the purpose of the task
• brainstorm key search words and alternative phrases to use in a search engine
• use various search techniques
• limit an investigation to a manageable size
• identify and locate a range possible sources (people, organisations, places, print, online materials, diagrams, graphs, objects etc.)
• skim for relevant information
• record website URLs for future reference and for your bibliography
