Book Week at SHHS
1. Extreme Reading Photo Competition
Winning Photographs:

To celebrate Book Week 2022 SHHS will be running an Extreme Reading Photo Competition.
Share a selfie of yourself reading in a strange place or a weird way to win prizes.


Our Judging Panel will award prizes for:
  1. most unusual location
  2. best dressed
  3. most creative
  4. most humorous
Prizes will include books, stationery and chocolates.
Competition closes 31 August 2022.

How to enter: 
  1. Students take a photo of themselves extreme reading 
  2. Share on Social Media* with the hashtags #BookWeek2022 AND #ExtremeReading
  3. Take a screenshot of your photo as above
  4. Email the image to Ms Costello - cathy.costello@det.nsw.edu.au
​​*Should you not have any social media accounts, simply email your image to Ms Costello

Competition rules:
To be eligible students must: 
  • attend SHHS
  • only share photos of themselves. There should be no other person/s in the photo.
  • have parent permission and authority to publish
  • adhere to NSW DoE Respectful, Responsible and Safe digital behaviour expectations.

CANCELLED: Dress as a Book Character CosPlay Event

Unfortunately this event has been cancelled due to a low number of students indicating they intended to participate.


Author Visit - Oliver Phommavanh
Oliver Phommavanh will visit the school on Tuesday 30th August to speak to students in Years 7 & 8.


Oliver is a kids author, teacher and stand-up comedian. He lives in Sydney Australia and is a burger fanatic. He has written over 10 humorous books for kids. Oliver will be delivering his hilarious author talk at Seven Hills High School library to help us celebrate Book Week.

The school library collection holds a number of Oliver's books which you can borrow.

   - Best dressed student in each Year group
   - Best dressed staff member

Prizes will include books, stationery and chocolates.
Ensure fill out the Online Form below if you wish to attend.

PLEASE NOTE:
1. Paricipating students should attend school in full school uniform.
2. Students will be able to change into their costumes in Session 4.
3. They will then enter the CosPlay parade in the school Hall during Assembly time to be judged by the judging panel to enter for a prize.
4. Students change back into full school uniform during lunch to be dressed & ready for Session 5.
